2024 Leaf Metallic Imaginations - Shohei Ohtani “Ohtaniwood” 1/1
What can I say? I’m okay at making stuff, and I’ve killed a lot of time, had a lot of fun, and charged what I’m worth to make a lot of things over the years, including gig posters, storyboards, portraits, and album art.
One of my biggest illustration binges, though, reflects my love of trading cards, but baseball cards especially - their status as little pop culture relics, the way they succinctly humanize athletes, and the way their designs reflect their eras (or pay homage to a larger history). Below are a series of athletes stars and pop culture legends I did as part of my own illustration/design portfolio, a portfolio which resulted in a working relationship with Leaf Trading Cards and the Metallic Imaginations trading card series.
